We’re hiring

News

We’re stepping up to the challenge of meeting the increased demand for food. With the need so great, we’re hiring hourly and full-time positions at our locations throughout the country. To protect our employees and our candidates, we’re adapting our hiring process to help prospective talent find work with us both efficiently and safely.

Adding talent to meet increased demand

Our manufacturing and distribution teams are working to ensure our food makes it to our customers’ shelves and ultimately to homes and tables across North America.

To assist in that effort, our Human Resources (HR) team is virtually meeting, screening and qualifying candidates to fill seasonal roles within those teams. By using local employment agencies and job boards from our hometown communities, we’ve been able to host virtual job fairs to fill openings in nearly 20 states.

New employees start in Napoleon, Ohio

At our largest plant in Napoleon, Ohio, the HR team has conducted four virtual career fairs to identify 300 potential candidates. The additional staff will provide support as the plant works to keep up with increased demand.

The HR team has been working nights and weekends to get the influx of positions posted and candidates interviewed, and to onboard new employees.

In Napoleon, the onboarding process has been redesigned to ensure social distancing while still meeting all required learning objectives. New hires have been attending orientation in smaller groups, with special precautions taken to protect both trainers and trainees.

Hiring office-based employees remotely

In late 2019, our team implemented a new, smarter career website to better engage candidates and create an improved experience. The update has been key during this time of increased and rapid hiring, offering a more user-friendly experience for candidates interested in career opportunities.

In addition to manufacturing and distribution roles, our Talent Acquisition team is recruiting for and filling roles at all levels and across all functions, including Information Technology, Marketing and Research & Development.

Prospective candidates are being interviewed virtually, and new hires are starting on their intended start dates, with virtual onboarding, training and tech support to help them get ready for their new role.

The Campbell experience, from home!

Our new Talent Experience manager, Vaughn Brown, joined our Talent Acquisition team at the end of March — virtually!

“I haven’t stepped foot into the office or met any of my colleagues in person, but I already feel like part of the team,” said Vaughn.

His hiring manager kicked off his first day with a “virtual lobby meeting,” where they video-conferenced and went through his onboarding tasks just as they would if they were in person at our headquarters in Camden, N.J.

Campbell Summer Internship Program

Vaughn’s role includes managing our university program, which kicks off virtually this month, welcoming 51 college students from across North America for summer internships. Despite the current environment, we’re committed to continuing the program, and we’re proud to be able to maintain it virtually. Our university team has been focused on providing interns with a meaningful experience this summer with the support of university champions across the business.

Interns will work from their homes and connect with their managers and teams remotely, across a range of functions including Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Sales, Information Technology, Marketing, Human Resources and Communications.

The university program, which was recognized by the National Association of Colleges and Employers, includes virtual engagement plans with structured check-ins to help interns feel connected to the business, even from home. Virtual forums have been created to encourage interns to network with each other, and their direct supervisors have been provided with resources and tips to ensure they are also set up for success when engaging with new talent remotely.

“My team has been holding virtual coffee meetings, meet-and-greets and huddles so I can get to know everyone,” said Vaughn. “The experience has been so positive throughout these difficult times, and I’ve used these tactics from this experience to help shape the experiences of those participating in our university program.”
